The Crown is one of Bristol’s most iconic dual-personality venues. Upstairs, it’s a lively, no-frills pub, cheap pints, loud music, and a buzzing, unfiltered energy. It’s chatty, a bit chaotic, and always full of character. The kind of place where you show up for a quick drink and end up deep in conversation, halfway to planning your next night out.

But head downstairs and you’ll find one of the city’s most generational underground rave basements. Hidden beneath the pub is a dark, stone-walled dungeon that’s hosted everything from DnB to techno, often packed with people who came for the music, not the hype. It’s raw, real, and always loud, the kind of place you stumble into once and never forget.

The Crown has earned its spot as a true staple in Bristol’s nightlife. It’s not flashy or trying to be trendy, it just is what so many venues try to be: consistently solid, full of character, and never predictable. Whether you’re new to the city or a local with stories from nights gone by, The Crown is always in the mix
